Sweeney earns All-American honors
Carrollton, Ga. - December 19, 2005 - It is a historic day for West Georgia athletics, as junior forward Maz Sweeney was named to the NSCAA All-American squad, becoming the first women's soccer All-America at West Georgia.

Carrollton, Ga. - December 5, 2005 - The firsts keep on coming for West Georgia's soccer program. In their first season in a UWG uniform, Maz Sweeney and Sara Sohlberg were both named to the NSCAA All-South Region team.

Carrollton, Ga. - October 28, 2005 - West Georgia took a third-ranked West Florida team in the land as far as they would like to go Friday afternoon, but a goal by Cici Marrero with less than three minutes left in the game proved to be the difference as UWF downed the Braves 3-2.

Camp named Defensive Player of the Week
Carrollton, Ga. - October 12, 2005 - The 2005 soccer season continues to move along, and West Georgia received its second GSC Player of the Week honor Tuesday when conference officials announced UWG keeper Lauren Camp as their defensive player of the week. The Braves also maintained their standing at fifth-place in the South Region Rankings, released today.

Carrollton, Ga. - August 25, 2005 - Welcome to Georgia Sara Sohlberg. The junior led the West Georgia Braves to a 4-0 victory over Armstrong Atlantic State in the season opener Thursday. The Sweden native scored all four goals in impressive fashion.
