Carrollton, Ga. – November 7, 2005West Georgia cheerleading has been making headlines for the last four years, winning the UCA Nationals in the Coed division four straight times and finishing in the top three in the All-Girl division every year in that span with one National Chamionship.
At the 2006 UCA College Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Fla., the All-Girl squad will be the favorite to win it all as the team came out of the entrance taping ranked first in Division II.
The first-place nod earns the Braves cheerleaders a paid invitation to this years championships. It is the first time the All-Girl squad has been ranked first heading into the competition.
The All-Girl Partner stunt team of Amber Melear, Mallory Jones, Nikki Williams and Sandy Faith also placed second in their division.
This is a huge accomplishment for these girls to place second, said coach Sherry Cooney. The partner stunt is different than the other divisions because the girls will be going up against all divisions, including bigger Division I schools.
