At UWG: 2004-05 Freshman of the Year in the Gulf South Conference returning for his second collegiate season of golf . . . will be the backbone of what could be a good golf team this season.
High School: Brandon is already a highly decorated golfer before entering West Georgia. The Douglasville native had an amazing run during high school, including state runner-up in AAAA golf in his senior year. In 2003 and 2004 he was region champion for coach Rick Blackstone at Alexander High School, as well as being named Douglas County golfer of the year. 2003 also saw Brandon named county champion as well. All four years of high school golf, Bennett was named team MVP and he was the AJGA Player of the year in 2000.
Personal: Born May 13, 1986 . . . son of Russ and Debbie Bennett . . . Majoring in business with aspirations of playing on a pro tour someday . . . hobbies include fishing and playing tennis . . . Has a variety of clubs in his bag, including Ben Hogan Apex Irons and a Titleist Futura putter . . . favorite food is prime rib . . . enjoys country music and his favorite movie is Dumb and Dumber.
