Carrollton, Ga. – April 20, 2005 – The West Georgia women’s soccer team competed in the Piedmont 7 a-side on Saturday, April 15. The Braves won the tournament in convincing fashion going 3-0 in the tourney.
The Braves won back-to-back-to-back contests in the tournament, beating North Georgia College 7-1 in the first game, followed by a 7-1 victory over Emmaunnuel. In the final contest of the day, West Georgia faced off with host Piedmont, winning a 1-0 contest to win the tournament.
Freshman Brittany Carr scored five goals on the afternoon to lead the Braves to victory.
The Braves have played five matches so far this spring. The first two were on April 3, when West Georgia faced the Redoubt Lady Generals from Tennessee and the Atlanta Lazers. Against Redoubt, the Braves tied 0-0 and UWG collected a 3-1 win over the Lazers.
Next up is a tournament this weekend at Emory University for the Braves final spring contests of the spring.
