Ellis earns GSC Weekly honors

Carrollton, Ga. – November 23, 2005 – West Georgia All-America candidate Tai Ellis is at it again, as Tuesday she was named the first Gulf South Conference Player of the Week for the 2005-06 season.

Ellis was on fire last weekend at the Montevallo Coca-Cola/Guesthouse Inn Classic, averaging 27 points, five rebounds and four steals while leading West Georgia to a 1-1 record in the early goings.

Her most impressive performance came against Arkansas-Monticello, when she hit for 29 points, eight rebounds and four steals.

As a junior, Ellis won the GSC Player of the Week award twice. She and the Braves head to Clark-Atlanta Wednesday night for a 6 p.m. Thanksgiving eve tip-off.
