Many new faces will appear on the field in the secondary this fall. They will be guided, however, by a veteran coach. Mike Adams returns to the West Georgia staff for a fourth season, his third as the team’s secondary coach.

Adams came to West Georgia in 2001 following three seasons on the staff at St. Joseph’s (Ind.) College. There, he served the Pumas’ program in many capacities. In 1998, he worked with the running backs and wide receivers. Adams then spent the 1999 and 2000 seasons coaching the defensive secondary. He also served as the program’s strength and conditioning coordinator, and media liaison.

Prior to his tenure at St. Joseph’s, Adams entered the coaching profession at his alma mater, Ball State University. There, he spent two seasons as a student assistant, working with the Cardinals’ linebackers.

A native of Indianapolis, IN, Adams eared his degree from Ball State, majoring in Sports Administration with a minor in Coaching. Beyond football, Adams enjoys traveling and basketball. He is married to former Lina Okulo.
