Joining the Braves coaching staff for the 2003-04 season is Rodney Hampton, a veteran coach and a respected defensive specialist. Rodney will also be active in teaching the forwards and post players on the offensive end of the floor, as well as scouting opponents, recruiting, and preparing game plans with the coaching staff.
Prior to arriving at West Georgia, Hampton served as an assistant boys basketball coach at Guntersville High School in Alabama. During his time there, he worked with Rick Moody, the current head Women¹s Basketball coach at the University of Alabama, and Faulkner University head Women¹s Basketball coach Jim Sanderson.
Since 1993, he has coached at numerous camps in the south, as well as conducted his own ³Rodney Hampton Basketball Camps² in Alabama.
A native of Alabama, he attended David Lipscomb University, playing point guard on the basketball team for two seasons. Hampton is married to wife Tiffany, they have two children, Kyjiah, 6, and Keyshawn, 5, and are expecting a third.
