Schoeneck, Singleton take All-GSC honors

Carrollton, Ga. – November, 2005 – West Georgia’s volleyball season ended Friday evening in Searcy, AR, but the postseason honors started rolling in Monday afternoon as GSC officials announced the 2005 All-GSC team.

Carolin Schoeneck was the Braves’ top vote-getter from the GSC coaches, earning first-team honors in her first season in a UWG uniform.

The sophomore from Berlin, Germany, led the Braves in kills per game in 2005, collecting 4.23 kpg and 525 total kills. She hit at a 26 percent clip, second-best on the team this year. She also had 44 service aces and 73 blocks to earn her award.

Senior Stephanie Singleton had a record-breaking season, setting UWG career marks in four categories this year, as well as breaking the single-season kills mark. She had 596 kills this year, but led the team in service aces with 58 as well. She broke 400 digs for the third time in her career and had 31 blocks.

The award is her second career All-GSC nod, as Singleton earned first-team honors in 2004.
