Braves fall to Arkansas-Monticello in season opener

Montevallo, AL – November 18, 2005 – The West Georgia Braves came out smoking against Arkansas-Monticello in Montevallo, AL, but fell flat in the second half, losing 67-62 in the season opener.

The two halves were near mirror images of each other as the Braves dominated the first half, taking a 41-27 into the locker room at halftime.

All-America candidate Tai Ellis started off her season in impressive fashion, scoring 29 points in the game to lead all scorers. But the UAM defense was too strong on the rest of the Braves, as no other UWG player scored in double figures on the night.

West Georgia opens the season at 0-1 and takes on Agnes Scott College on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
