Jefferson City, TN – October 28, 2005 – All season long, West Georgia have had one game in each match where a team comes from behind to beat the Braves. UWG turned the tables on that trend Thursday night, coming back from a 16-3 deficit in the fourth game to win and force a fifth. In the fifth game, the Braves took control, winning 15-7.
Carson-Newman won the first game 30-26, the UWG tied the match at one with a 30-22 win in game two. Game three was a close contest, with the Lady Eagles edging West Georgia 30-28 to set up the final to games.
Carolin Schoeneck led the UWG effort with 20 kills on the night, followed by Stephanie Singleton’s 15.
West Georgia travels today to Harrogate, TN, where tomorrow brings a massive GSC matchup with Lincoln Memorial. The Braves must win two of the three remaining matches to make the Gulf South Conference tournament on November 11.
