Two Braves named All-American

Carrollton, GA – December 20, 2005 – Post-season honors continue to arrive for two members of the 2005 West Georgia Braves football team as a pair of Braves earned All-American honors released Tuesday.

Linebacker Kelvin Morris and punter Jeff Carpenter have been chosen to the 2005 CollegeSportsReport.com All-Division II Team. Morris, a senior from Timmonsville, S.C., was named a member of the first team defense. Carpenter, a senior from Cumming, was chosen the third team punter.

Previously, both had earned berths on the All-Gulf South Conference First Team, and the Daktronics All-Southeast Region First Team. Also, Morris was named 2005 GSC Defensive Player of the Year.

When the Daktronics All-American awards were handed out, Morris was the only Brave to find his name on the list. He was named second team defense by the Sports Information Directors of America.
