UWG suffers tough loss at Alabama-Huntsville

Huntsville, AL – October 4, 2005 – The road continues to be tough for West Georgia as Alabama-Huntsville came from behind in two of their three single game wins Tuesday night to beat the Braves 3-1.

UWG came out smoking in the first game, bolting out of the gate with an early 11-1 lead. But the Lady Chargers made a furious comeback, tying the game at 25, but the Braves were too tough, winning the game 30-25.

Game two was the opposite, as UAH jumped out to a 15-5 lead early on and cruised to a 30-19 victory to tie the match at one game apiece.

The third game was even the for the first 15 points until the Braves scored two straight points on Kathi Schoeneck service aces to go up 17-15. But the lead wouldn’t hold and the Lady Chargers won the game in a close contest 30-27.

Game four looked as if it would go to the Braves early. West Georgia led by as much as seven points three times, and led the match 24-19. From that point on, it was all Huntsville, as the Lady Chargers outscored the Braves 11-2 to win the match.

West Georgia falls to 16-10 on the year and 4-3 in GSC East play.
