Pensacola, FL – October 20, 2005 – Pensacola is rarely kind to any West Georgia team. The UWG volleyball Braves learned that lesson the hard way Thursday night, falling to West Florida 3-0 (30-26, 30-24, 30-26) in the Florida panhandle city.
Carolin Schoeneck put forth a stellar effort against the Lady Argonauts, collecting a game high 15 kills at a .455 clip, but it wasn’t enough to put the Braves over the top.
Neither squad hit the ball well as a team, as West Georgia’s kill percentage was .164 and UWF’s was .180. Most of that was due to solid defense, as seven players between the two teams combined for 144 digs. The Braves had three ladies in double-digit digs territory, led by Kathi Schoeneck’s 16. Stephanie Singleton followed that with 15 and Carolin Schoeneck added 12.
