Harrogate, Tenn. – October 29, 2005 – All it took was a win on Saturday, and the West Georgia Braves came through, beating Lincoln Memorial 3-1 in Harrogate to claim the final spot in the Gulf South Conference tournament.
The Braves came into today’s match with LMU at 6-5 in the GSC East, while the Lady Railsplitters were 5-6. UWG won the first meeting in Carrollton 3-1, giving the Braves the tie-breaker over Lincoln.
With two matches remaining for both teams, the best LMU could do is tie West Georgia, where the tie-breaker would come into effect.
