Braves claim third player of the week award
Carrollton, Ga. - December 22, 2005 - A stellar week by one Brave has earned recognition from Gulf South Conference officials. Yvonne Killings was named GSC East Division Player of the Week in the conference's official release Wednesday.
Delta Spoils holiday cheer in Carrollton
Carrollton, Ga. - December 17, 2005 - Delta State came visiting for the holidays Saturday night and proved to be a tough visitor for the West Georgia, as the Lady Statesmen beat the Braves 60-41 in the final game before the holiday break.
Braves sweep weekly awards
Carrollton, Ga. - December 14, 2005 - A pair of West Georgia guards swept the Gulf South Conference East Division Player of the Week awards in the weekly GSC release for this week. Michael Ford and Tai Ellis both earned the honor for their play this past week.

West Georgia holds off furious Miles rally
Carrollton, Ga. - December 13, 2005 - Three Braves scored in double figures and Rachelle Washington had a career high for points and rebounds en route to a 69-53 win Tuesday night over Miles in the HPE Building.
Braves come up short against Columbus
Columbus, GA - December 10, 2005 - Columbus State withstood several charges by visiting West Georgia in the second half here Saturday, holding on for a 74-65 non-conference win. The victory was the 300th in the 16-plus year career of Jay Sparks at CSU - the man who started the program in 1989. CSU moves to 6-4 on the season, while West Georgia is now 5-4.
Braves taken down by Florida Gulf Coast
Valdosta, Ga. - December 4, 2005 - The West Georgia Braves found offense a little difficult to come by Sunday afternoon at the Ramada Limited Classic in Valdosta. The Braves fell to undefeated Florida Gulf Coast 49-35.
Valdosta Classic nets Braves' fifth win
Valdosta, Ga. - December 3, 2005 - On thing Craig Roden's teams always do well is guard teams. The 2005-06 version of his West Georgia Braves proved that fact Saturday afternoon against Saint Leo at The Complex in Valdosta, Ga., forcing 23 turnovers while committing just nine in a 59-44 win over the Lions.
UWG bounces back against Miles
Fairfield, AL - November 30, 2005 - Winning isn't always a pretty thing. It wasn't pretty Wednesday night at Knox-Windham Gym in Fairfield, AL, but the West Georgia Braves came away with a 62-49 region win.
Peach Belt surges on Day Two
Carrollton, Ga. - November 26 2005 - Day two of the Gulf South/Peach Belt Challenge saw the Clayton State Lady Lakers and Columbus State Cougars take home a win apiece. CCSU beat Montevallo 70-63 in the opener and Columbus took down host West Georgia 69-48 to close out the Challenge.
Braves, Cougars rise to the top on Day One of GSC/PBC Challenge
Carrollton, Ga. - November 24, 2005 - The first day of action at the Gulf South/Peach Belt Challenge featured two barnburners, with Columbus State besting Montevallo 64-57 in the opener and West Georgia overcoming Clayton State 77-72 in overtime.
Defensive-minded Braves stop Clark Atlanta
Atlanta, GA - November 23, 2005 - The defense rolls on for West Georgia, as the Braves held Clark Atlanta to just 18 percent from the floor Wednesday night en route to a 64-34 win over the Lady Panthers at the VWH Gym on the CAU Campus.
Ellis earns GSC Weekly honors
Carrollton, Ga. - November 23, 2005 - West Georgia All-America candidate Tai Ellis is at it again, as Tuesday she was named the first Gulf South Conference Player of the Week for the 2005-06 season.
Roden announces early signees
Carrollton, Ga. - November 22, 2005 - West Georgia head coach Craig Roden is working hard on reaching new heights with his program. Tuesday, Roden announced the signing of a pair of guards who have the ability to help with that goal.
Ellis powers Braves to first win
Montevallo, AL - November 19, 2005 - All-America candidate Tai Ellis scored 25 points and the West Georgia Braves gave up the least single-game points since the 2001-02 season en route to a 67-37 win over Agnes Scott at Montevallo Saturday afternoon.
Braves fall to Arkansas-Monticello in season opener
Montevallo, AL - November 18, 2005 - The West Georgia Braves came out smoking against Arkansas-Monticello in Montevallo, AL, but fell flat in the second half, losing 67-62 in the season opener.
UWG adds another recruit to the mix
Carrollton, GA - May 11, 2005 - A strong inside presence has been added to the West Georgia Braves' 2005 women's basketball recruiting class.
Braves ink three in recruiting
Carrollton, GA - May 3, 2005 - West Georgia's women's basketball program has a strong nucleus returning from last year's GSC Tournament team. Coach Craig Roden is hoping that a strong recruiting year will add the extra punch to push his team to the top of the standings in 2005-06.
